Issue 9. June 27th 2010Domestic. Bowls Cyprus Presentation night is being scheduled for mid-September at the Coral Bay new Clubhouse. We are awaiting the final date for conveying to all members. Review of Bowls Cyprus Constitution is in the hands of a sub-committee who amongst other matters will amend the rule on disciplinary procedure. World Bowls Rules covered in the Crystal Mark edition is also under review when it is anticipated that a revised edition (II) will be available from 1st January next year. One of the proposed changes will be the “giving away of the mat” which will be a choice for the winner of each end - Rule 18.4 Shirley & Ivan. This league will commence on Thursday 16th September. The Aliathon & Coral Bay clubs have entered two teams and Louis Phaethon & Erimi Aphrodite one team each. Rules covering this triples league are available from Club Secretaries and on the website. As most of you are aware we have been invited by the Cyprus Commonwealth Games Assoc. to enter a team of two Ladies & two Men in the bowls section of the forthcoming Games due to be held at Delhi in India. This a wonderful achievement for Bowls Cyprus as it is the very first time a bowling team has been included in the National team. The Games take place between 3rd-14th October. The cost of air fares & accommodation being provided by the Commonwealth Games Assoc.
